HORIBA Scientific is pleased to announce the launch of EzPlex, the new flagship instrument of the label-free molecular interaction platform based on Surface Plasmon Resonance imaging (SPRi).

EzPlex gives quantitative and qualitative information on multiplex molecular interaction assays involving oligonucleotides, oligosaccharides, proteins, antibodies, aptamers or even cells and bacteria.

The imaging capability dramatically enhances the throughput of conventional SPR and allows from few up to several hundred molecular interactions to be screened and characterized simultaneously. Interaction kinetic profiles can be obtained within minutes and give precious data about binding strength, kinetics and affinity.

The full automation of EzPlex combined with the multiplex performance will accelerate the workflow in the fields of biomarker discovery, biotherapeutics research, protein analysis, antibody production, cell science…

The revolutionary optical configuration and the new liquid handling capabilities bring new functionalities such as sample recirculation and recovery for low concentration or precious samples. These features make EzPlex the ideal solution for peptide, antibody, protein and aptamer screening.

ProteomicsProteomics is the systemic bioinformatics study of proteins and amino acids, including their structure, size, function and identification. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.High-Throughput ScreeningHigh-throughput screening (HTS) is an automated drug discovery technique for identification of active compounds against a compound library. Use HTS readers and integrated assay preparation / analysis workstations to screen your compounds. Identify active compounds against various HTS libraries, including membranes, proteins and peptides and HTS cell lines. Find the best high-throughput screening products in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.MicrobiologyMicrobiology is the study of microorganisms including protists, prokaryotes, fungi, and, often, viruses. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments. The use of biomarkers in research and diagnosis can indicate a normal or disease state or drug response of cells / tissues. Biomarkers include genetic markers, cell surface markers such as antigens, antibodies or receptors and secreted molecules such as cytokines. An assay system is required for identification of biomarkers. :Molecular BiologyMolecular biology is the branch of biology that focuses on the molecular mechanisms that underlie cellular functions. It involves studying DNA, RNA, and proteins to understand gene expression, replication, and regulation. Molecular biology is fundamental to biotechnology, medicine, and genetic research. The most well-known example of a biotherapeutic product, and the first to be approved for therapeutic use, was recombinant human insulin.Biomarker DiscoveryClinical biomarkers refer to substances related to known medical conditions that can be accurately measured in vitro. Biomarkers can be used to diagnose presence of a disease and indicate disease severity. The discovery of new biomarkers is incredibly valuable in the field of diagnostics.
