Product news

Available in black, white or clear polystyrene, Porvair Sciences offers a comprehensive range of 384-well assay plates optimised for fluorescence, luminescence / scintillation and ELISA / turbidity measurements.

Providing a liquid capacity of only 30ul per well, Porvair low volume 384-well assay plates are of particular interest to high throughput screening laboratories looking to conserve valuable samples and reagents. Using a proprietary manufacturing technique the low volume 384 well assay plate range offers market leading plate flatness + 0.20mm. This translates into a significant increase in plate tolerance that helps to eliminate mis-handling problems when used within automated environments.

For laboratories looking to carry out more work in a 384-well format - Porvair also offers a range of square 384-well plates with a liquid capacity of 120ul per well. All plates in this range are designed to have minimal well-to-well crosstalk and are rounded at the bottom to reduce wicking.

All Porvair 384-well assay plates are precisely manufactured to strictly conform to SBS/ANSI dimensions ensuring trouble free integration with automated systems. Supplied individually wrapped or in bulk packs, each type of Porvair 384-well assay plate is available in standard, high bind or tissue culture treated formats.

ELISAEnzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), also known as enzyme immunoassays (EIA), are used for the detection and quantification of proteins, peptides and antibodies in a sample. ELISA often comes in kit format, with pre-selected antibody pairs to detect specific proteins or biomarkers of diseases such as diabetes and obesity, or cardiovascular and neurological disorders. Detection is made possible with chemiluminescent, fluorescent or colorimetric substrates and detection instruments such as microplate / ELISA readers. Other kits available include: Enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) assays for the quantification of protein-producing cells and chemiluminescent immunoassays (CLIA) kits. The number of wells microplates contain can range from 6 to 3243 wells, with the 96-well format being the most commonly used. Microplates can come tailored for a range of applications including cell culture, PCR, filtration, storage, non-binding surface, protein crystallization, as well as pre-coated, deep well and normal Standard microplates. Additionally, options for microplate colors include clear , black, white or black with clear bottom and white with clear bottom for absorbance microplate reader applications. At the core of a scintillation counter is a sensor and detector, where the sensor is typically a scintillator crystal. Scintillation also includes liquid scintillation, radiometers and particle counters. Key features of scintillator counters include high resolution, automated multi-detection and high counting efficiency.
