Product news

Faster and easier development of your own customized lateral flow assays is now possible with the new generic Rapid Assay Device (gRAD) kits from BioPorto, available exclusively in the UK from Alpha Laboratories.

This open, flexible, versatile platform is NOT analyte dependent and gives you total control to customize the assay using your chosen antibodies.

It offers you endless possibilities and applications by enabling creation of lateral flow assays tailored to your needs, in a very short time.

gRAD OneDetection is an optimised generic lateral flow strip that is configured with both a test line, where a biotinylated capture antibody will bind, and a control line that will capture any antibody from mouse, rabbit or goat.
It facilitates fast and easy development of a fully customised qualitative or semi quantitative lateral flow assay.

Alpha Laboratories offers an extensive range of monoclonal antibodies including ready matched, optimised Antibody Pairs that are ideal for use with gRAD for easy development of DIY Lateral Flow Assays.

The gRAD platform is available both as a complete kit containing all the components you need to get started on developing your own assays straight away, and as individual components to maximise flexibility.

AntibodiesAntibodies are used in techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, immunohistochemistry, western blotting and immunopreciptation. Select specific antigen reactivity, high specific affinity, low non-specific binding, monoclonal or polyclonal, primary or secondary antibodies and associated conjugates such as an enzyme or dye for visualization.Assay AssemblyAssay Assembly is technique used in drug discovery to develop assays to test the cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, or other activities of a compound on a cell. Assay assembly requires chip assembly, a delivery system and a detection and analysis method. Beneficial features of assay kits or automated systems include high-throughput, high speed and sensitivity and low signal to noise ratio.Monoclonal AntibodiesMonoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are lab-made molecules that can bind to specific antigens on cells, making them highly effective in treating cancers, autoimmune diseases, and infections. These targeted therapies are transforming the treatment landscape for many conditions. Browse our peer-reviewed product directory to find monoclonal antibodies for research and clinical applications; compare products, check reviews, and get pricing directly from manufacturers.Lateral Flow AssaysAssay DevelopmentThe process of proving an assay to be sensitive with respect to the target is known as assay development. The assay should be able to characterize novel compounds and measure the potency of these compounds against a validated biological target.
