It is important to take a few minutes to assess whether or not your pipettes are performing as they should be, doing this is an excellent way to assure data integrity and reduce your overall risk.

You can quickly verify the accuracy of most pipettes using a gravimetric balance and vessel, some deionized water and a work area that's free from drafts, direct sunlight and vibration.

To further assist you with this, we have created a simple Quick Check worksheet that enables you to record and calculate your data.

Once you have determined whether or not your pipettes have passed or failed, you are then able to decide what the next step is. If they've passed you can continue with your experiments reassured of the accuracy of your data, if they have failed then you can send them through to our UKAS Accredited Pipette Service Centre to be brought back up to scratch.
