GenoLogics Life Sciences Software Inc. (GenoLogics), a leading developer of lab and scientific data management solutions, today announced it will preview an early version of Geneus™, a laboratory and data management solution, on October 10, 2006 at the ASHG (American Society for Human Genetics) conference.

In addition, GenoLogics Field Application Scientist Dr. Denis Bronnikov will present a scientific poster at the conference titled, “The Development of an Open Platform LIMS Solution to Address the Complexity of Genomics and Systems Biology Workflows, Data Management and Analysis.”

Geneus is a new laboratory and scientific data management system, currently under development. The Company is developing this solution in response to customer demand for a reliable, configurable, science specific lab and data management solution for genomics and systems biology researchers.

ASHG takes place next week at the New Orleans Conference Center , and GenoLogics will be previewing Geneus in booth #1027. Development on the early access version of Geneus will be complete by the end of this year, and we will deploy to four early access customers in the first quarter of 2007. General release is planned for the first half of 2007.

GenoLogics’ Geneus and Proteus solutions combined with an open, integrating, data management technology platform for systems biology enables researchers to implement a lab and data management solution, across multiple sciences, labs, and facilities.

Geneus facilitates the collection, organization, management, and analysis of genomics information, providing researchers with unparalleled opportunity to focus on their science challenges rather than their workflow and data management challenges.

Genome AnalysisGenomics, the study of genomes, includes functional genomics, evolutionary genomics and comparative genomics. There are many genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing of whole genomes, computational biology and bioinformatics. DNA and nucleic acids must be isolated and concentrated from cells for analysis with kits, automated analyzers and software. Other useful technologies for studying genomics include PCR, microarrays and electrophoresis.Data AnalysisData analysis hardware and software is available to make data processing straight-forward yet powerful. Data software can be used for math and stats, technical graphing and image analysis. In addition, software is available for specific data analysis of electrophoresis, densitometry, ELISA and DNA sequencing.LIMSLIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is an informatics software system used to improve the quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) of data management. LIMS can be a standard for common lab workflows, such as commercial off the shelf systems (COTS), or customized for more specialized lab use. Systems are available for mainframe computers or PC.Integration ServicesIncorporate lab systems, software and equipment with integration services.
