Product news

GE Healthcare announces the launch of the illustra™ ExoStar kit, supporting researchers by providing a high performance and cost effective product for the enzymatic removal of unincorporated primers and nucleotides from PCR and sequencing reactions. The new ExoStar kit enables efficient primer digestion with no degradation of target PCR products, allowing almost 100% yield of the desired PCR products.

GE Healthcare is dedicated to working with scientists to support lab research by developing innovative, affordable products. The PCR clean-up product contains two enzymes that have been expressly designed to work together, with one tube of Exonuclease 1 at a concentration of 10U µl-1 and one tube of illustra Alkaline Phosphatase at a concentration of 1U µl-1.

GE Healthcare patented the original enzymatic approach for PCR and sequencing clean-up reactions, with the new ExoStar now providing an advanced performance reformulation.

OligonucleotidesOligonucleotides are small nucleic acid polymers, usually less than 20 bases in length. Oligonucleotides can be made via enzymatic cleavage or more commonly by chemical synthesis with polymerases. Their use includes FISH, southern blots, microarrays and as primers in PCR. DNA sequencers and genetic analyzers are based on capillary electrophoresis, where labeled DNA fragments are electrophoretically separated by size as they migrate through a polymer. The use of biomarkers in research and diagnosis can indicate a normal or disease state or drug response of cells / tissues. Biomarkers include genetic markers, cell surface markers such as antigens, antibodies or receptors and secreted molecules such as cytokines. An assay system is required for identification of biomarkers. :
