The Africa Microreactor Flow System from Syrris is a fully-automated, flexible and easy-to-use modular apparatus for automated flow chemistry. Controlled by the innovative Africa software, unattended synthesis can occur, allowing R&D chemists to accelerate compound synthesis and reaction optimization for drug discovery and process development.

The Africa software automatically detects which modules are connected, so the user can select a pre-defined workflow or create a new one with the user-friendly drag and drop interface. The user simply needs to enter the reagents, solvents and molar concentrations, followed by data on stochiometry, reaction time, temperature and the desired quantity. All injection, sampling and collection timings are automatically controlled, leaving the user free to perform other tasks within the lab.

Each experiment is automated by the software and all data is logged. If the HPLC module is connected, a sample of each reaction is automatically taken, diluted and injected into the HPLC for analysis. Resulting chromatograms are easily produced, integrated or tabulated as required. Once the experiment is complete, reports and graphs can be generated in real time and data exported as .csv files.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. For more specialized HPLC, explore FPLC, countercurrent LC and simulated moving bed systems.
