Product news

The ElectroPrep System from Harvard Apparatus is a versatile patented sample prep technology based on electro-dialysis. It can be used for rapid electro-dialysis, electro-elution, electro-filtration, electro-fractionation. It can also be used for electro-concentration for running a sample simultaneously into multiple molecular weight cut off (MWCO) fractions, in as little as three minutes.

Harvard Apparatus ElectroPrep System supports a broad range of membranes with MWCO of 100, 500, 1K, 2K, 5K, 10K, 25K, 50K, 100K and 300K Daltons and is ideal for the rapid purification of proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and other biomolecules.

With a run-time of 3 to 10 minutes, ElectroPrep provides speed and convenience, even at the very low currents (5 to10 mA) used with this system. The new reusable sample chambers are made of PTFE for high sample recovery and have been redesigned to provide larger membrane surface areas for even faster dialysis rates. These ElecroPrep DIALYZERS are of 50 µl to 1500 µl volume and can be joined with a Union or one or two Link Chambers in different combinations and membranes.

ProteomicsProteomics is the systemic bioinformatics study of proteins and amino acids, including their structure, size, function and identification. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.Protein PurificationProtein purification is a vital step in drug discovery, therapeutics, biotech and life science research. The purification process typically involves subcellular or membrane protein extraction with cell lysis kits, separation of proteins from cell debris by filtration or spin columns, and the isolation of proteins of interest from other proteins and impurities with affinity purification (including fusion protein tags and antibody binding proteins A, G and L), immunoprecipitation or chromatographic methods, such as ion exchange, size exclusion and immobilized metal affinity chromatography. All purification methods come in multiple formats for your laboratory needs, including agarose or magnetic beads, resins, columns and filter plates. Voltages can be measured using patch clamping, automated workstations, electrophysiology rigs or cell based assays. Specific cell lines, manipulators and microinjectors are also available for electrophysiology research.
