Opt-Diss 410 UV Fiber Optic Dissolution

Distek, Inc.

No more sampling! The Distek Opt-Diss 410 in-situ fiber optic UV system measures directly in the vessel, eliminating the need for conventional sampling, and with-it consumables like filters, tubing, and syringes, saving time, labor, and money. Moving light rather than liquids also allows generating near real-time dissolution data and nearly limitless sample points as frequently as every five seconds.

UV-Visible SpectroscopyUltraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometers are used to measure the interaction of UV and visible light with a sample, including transmission, reflectance & absorbance. The two major instrument classes are single-beam or double-beam spectrophotometers. More specialized equipment includes colorimeters, spectroradiometers and refractometers. Portable and microvolume spectrophotometers are also available. For the modular spectroscopy lab, explore a range of light sources for combination with a spectrograph/spectrometer and optics. Data software can be used for math and stats, technical graphing and image analysis. In addition, software is available for specific data analysis of electrophoresis, densitometry, ELISA and DNA sequencing.Molecular Recognition SoftwareMolecular recognition software is widely used to analyze DNA, RNA, proteins and chemicals. The software can be useful for graphical viewing, comparative analyses, high-throughput screening, genomics, proteomics and phylogenetics. Molecular recognition software uses bioinformatics tools and analyses such as BLAST searches and generates structural predictions, 3D structures and sequencing information.Clinical ChemistryBiochemistry (or clinical chemistry) involves the analysis of bodily fluids using chemical tests. Techniques used include HPLC, chromatography, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, immunochemical, electrophoresis, turbidometric / spectrophotometric assay, MRI and ISE analysis. Tests are often carried out on plasma or serum but urine (urinalysis) and fecal specimens are also processed.Discovery SoftwareComputational techniques used in both the chemistry and biology aspects of drug discovery, for data acquisition, processing and storage. Software is used for analysis of pathways, target identification, genomics, proteomics, modelling, lead identification, compound analysis and drug modelling among many others. Scale-upScale-Up is generally defined as the process of transferring the results of the discovery phases of the drug discovery process, obtained on a laboratory scale, to the pilot plant and finally to production scale. Scale-Up uses reactors and pump systems as well as reagents, standards and buffers. Often Scale-Up is provided as a service by Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). Software PlatformsSoftware platforms are useful for various stages of laboratory experiments from data collection to data storage and processing. For instance lab software is available for system control, data management, data analysis and qualification / validation.Drug TestingIt is essential to test the efficacy and toxicity of drugs at every stage of their development to ensure that a pharmaceutical product is fit for purpose and safe for use before reaching the stage of mass production and distribution.UVUltraviolet (UV) light is used in a variety of applications, including disinfection, spectrophotometry, and molecular biology. UV light can damage DNA, making it a powerful tool in sterilization and in studies of mutagenesis and gene repair.
