Product news

Sarstedt is pleased to announce the addition of cryo boxes designed for low temperature storage to -196°C. The cryo boxes feature a red, yellow, or blue transparent base with an optically clear lid for enhanced tube visualization.

Numerical coding at each aperture allows for easy and quick sample identification and tracking. Vents and drainage holes in both the box base and lid ensure pressure equalization during storage as well as swift liquid nitrogen drainage upon removal from tanks.

The cryo boxes are available in formats of 5x5, 9x9, or 10x10 to accommodate up to 2 ml or 5 ml cryo tubes. Boxes are manufactured from durable polycarbonate and can be autoclaved.

Autoclaves and SterilizersAutoclaves and sterilizers are commonly used to sterilize laboratory equipment, instruments and growth media using constant pressure and temperature. When choosing an autoclave or sterilizer consider medical or laboratory application, size, loading and sterilization method. Sterilization methods include flame (Bunsen burners), heat (steam or dry), chemical and UV.Refrigerators Freezers and CryogenicsRefrigerators, Freezers & Cryogenics can be used for preservation or experimental purposes. Types of freezers include deep freeze, -80C°C, ultra-low temperature, explosion proof, cryogenic and controlled rate freezers. Freezing is also used in freeze-drying equipment for dehydration processes. Feature to consider in freezers include temperature control and recorders, failure alarms and self-closing mechanisms.Sample ManagementSample management systems include sample storage devices such as freezers and plate storers, sample environment enclosures and sample organization, retrieval and sorter systems. Useful system features include high-throughput, automation, robotic arms, automated liquid handling and associated database systems. Accessories in sample management include barcode scanners, heat sealers and tubes.
