Commercially available Quality Control materials bring third party verification to analytical and diagnostic procedures. This is an increasingly important requirement for laboratories working towards or maintaining ISO 15189 accreditation. Flow cytometry systems, such as those from BD Biosciences and Beckman Coulter®, are well supported with a wide range of specialty control materials from Streck, supplied in the UK by Alpha Laboratories.

The latest addition to this range is CD-Chex TdT™ Plus. This quality control material enables evaluation of intracellular and surface antigens with assigned values for CD1a, CD2, CD4, CD5, CD7, CD8, CD34 cytoplasmic CD3, and nuclear TdT (Terminal deoxynucleotidyl Transferase) when stained with fluorescent antibodies and analysed by flow cytometry. These CD markers provide valuable information on the presence of the abnormal cells often found in certain types of hematopoietic neoplasms.

Like all Streck CD-Chex products, CD-Chex TdT™ Plus quality control material has excellent shelf-life characteristics, with 90 day closed vial stability (from the date of manufacture) and 30 day open vial stability.

Labware and Lab SuppliesLabware and lab supplies include various forms of glassware, plasticware, reagents and personal protective equipment (PPE) and are used across all scientific laboratories, enabling daily tasks to be performed. Explore a range of flasks and beakers, petri dishes, carboys and storage bottles. Labware such as condensers, desiccators and burettes are also available for more specific tasks. Find the best labware and lab supplies in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Flow Cytometry / Cell CountingFlow cytometers are used to count, sort and examine multiple characteristics of cells. Other cell analysis equipment includes image cytometers, cell counters, fluorescence-activated cell sorters (FACS), magnetic-activated cell sorters (MACS), and a range of flow cytometry assay kits. Flow cytometers can reveal information on cell viability, cell proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle progression, as well as identify cell populations and intracellular or cell-surface molecules. Additionally, some flow cytometers, known as FACS, have an additional sorting function after analysis. Cell counters and image cytometers count live and dead cell populations and can also conduct cell proliferation assays. Find the best flow cytometers, cell counters and cell sorters in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Laboratory ManagementLaboratory management involves overseeing the operations of a lab, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing workflows, and maintaining equipment. Efficient lab management is key to ensuring accurate results and minimizing downtime. Technologies like laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and automated lab equipment are helping labs streamline operations.
