Product news

Cherwell Laboratories, suppliers of environmental monitoring and process validation products for a variety of healthcare and pharmaceutical applications, will be exhibiting at the Pharmig 20th Anniversary Conference on 6th & 7th November. Members of the Cherwell team will be available throughout the event to offer delegates advice and solutions for their specific environmental monitoring and validation needs.

The conference, to be held at the Heythorp Park Resort Hotel, Chipping Norton, marks Pharmig’s 20th anniversary and will examine the past, present and future of microbiology. Pharmig has become an influential forum for microbiology in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and allied industries.

Sandra Hulme, Product Specialist at Cherwell Laboratories, commented, “Cherwell Laboratories is proud to acknowledge the success of Pharmig over the past 20 years and to be supporting continued improvement in quality within the pharmaceutical industry. To help achieve this we work closely with our customers to provide the best solution for their specific requirements.”

Throughout the event Cherwell will be sharing and developing their own expertise, whilst demonstrating the versatility of their comprehensive range of products for quality improvement within the pharmaceutical industry. Cherwell will be exhibiting high quality products for the monitoring of controlled environments and process validation applications. These include the Redipor® range of prepared agar plates, bottled media, broth bags, vials and ampoules, as well as microbial air samplers, wireless data loggers and biological indicators.

Data AnalysisData analysis hardware and software is available to make data processing straight-forward yet powerful. Data software can be used for math and stats, technical graphing and image analysis. In addition, software is available for specific data analysis of electrophoresis, densitometry, ELISA and DNA sequencing.Gas Generators and AnalyzersGas generators are used for supplying or monitoring a regular flow of a high purity gas such as nitrogen, hydrogen or zero air for applications such as gas chromatography. Gas analyzers can be used in supply chain processes and laboratory experiments with portable analyzers for monitoring CO2 and O2 levels as well as trace gases. Regular flow can be produced with gas control modules and flow meters. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments. Cheminformatics focuses on compound information, whereas bioinformatics is mainly applied to analysis and modeling of genomics, genetic and sequencing information. Hardware and software is available for data acquisition, analysis, management and storage.Environmental Monitoring and TestingEnvironmental monitoring and testing uses handheld portable analyzers, kits, spectrometers or chromatography systems for air, water, soil, food and other sample testing. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.Data LoggingAir SamplingAir sampling is described as the technique used to capture air for the subsequent purpose of analyzing, typically by thermal desorption, the presence of trace particulates, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
