Product news

CEM Corporation, a leading provider of microwave laboratory instrumentation, is pleased to announce the release of the next generation Discover® S-Class System for microwave-enhanced synthesis.

As the culmination of over four years of continued market definition and engineering refinement, the latest addition to the Discover family is poised to become the new standard in performance, ease-of-use, and cost-efficiency. Discover has been restyled and re-engineered to offer singular features such as an integrated camera option that allows chemists to observe their reactions in situ and intelligent, fully automated pressure management, which recognizes different vial sizes without the need for adapters.

Discover introduced the concept of a truly functional, modular microwave synthesis platform to the market and CEM is pleased to extend that concept once again in a cost-efficient manner with the restyled line. Of course, the platform continues to support the complete line of accessories including options for analytics, optics and scale up as well as automation modules with 48-, 72- or 96-position capacity, known as the ExplorerPLS® System. Explorer is the only microwave synthesis system to feature intelligent vial racks, which recognize vial size and location. It can switch seamlessly between 10- and 35-mL vials without the need for adapters or system changes, yet still fits in a fume hood. Explorer’s 96-position system footprint is similar to common systems with only a 60-position capacity.
