Product news

BioDot's BioJet Ultra Piezo System automates ultra-low volume liquid handling of biological samples in diagnostics, genomics and proteomics. It's state of the art technology allows a dispensing from 50 pL to 1 nL in a single drop, or Multidrop dispensing of up to 1 uL. The technology is non contact, and quantitative, with dispensing CV's less than 2%.

Visit Medica to see a new technology from BioDot. The BioJet Ultra Piezo System is a non-contact liquid handling and spotting system. The technology dispenses with a wide dynamic volume ranges from Single Drop (50 pL to 1.0 nL) to Multidrop (up to 1 uL) with CV’s less than 2%. The BioJet Ultra Piezo System can change volume ranges on the fly, while accurately aspirating and dispensing aqueous and organic solutions as well as living cells. Also high viscosity reagents such as glycerol can be dispensed.

Using Piezo, spot volume can be changed as well as dispensing reagents on top of each other without contamination. Depending on the application, the technology can be configured in a "Batch" or "Inline system modes". Results can be analyzed with standard technology and give immediate results for optimal reaction parameters.

The BioJet Ultra Piezo System will premier Nov 16 - 19, 2011 at the MEDICA® medical trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. BioDot's booth is located in Hall 2, Stand 2C47.

Genome AnalysisGenomics, the study of genomes, includes functional genomics, evolutionary genomics and comparative genomics. There are many genomic technologies such as DNA sequencing of whole genomes, computational biology and bioinformatics. DNA and nucleic acids must be isolated and concentrated from cells for analysis with kits, automated analyzers and software. Other useful technologies for studying genomics include PCR, microarrays and electrophoresis.ProteomicsProteomics is the systemic bioinformatics study of proteins and amino acids, including their structure, size, function and identification. Tools used in proteomics include chromatography, blotting and gels, protein arrays, mass spectrometry and ELISA and associated analysis software. Analyzers and proteomic systems should be sensitive, high resolution, fast and may be automated for high-throughput.Automated Liquid HandlingAutomated liquid handling equipment is used to mix, dilute and dispense allotted volumes of liquid into microplates and other vessels automatically. The robotic, liquid handling arms can dispense from single channel to 3456 multichannel as well as operate nanoliter dispensing, enabling high throughput of samples.
