Product news

As part of a host of activities at next week’s 2019 AACR Annual Meeting in Atlanta, USA, Bio-Rad will be launching an innovative new workflow offering highly sensitive detection of lncRNAs by RT-qPCR.

As well as highlighting the benefits of its digital PCR technology for liquid biopsy analysis, it will showcase a range of other products at its booth #2627, including antibodies, Bio-Plex Multiplex Immunoassays, its ZE5 Cell Analyzer, ddSEQ Single-Cell Isolator and Stain-Free Western Workflow.

There will also be a host of informative and educational events on offer from the Bio-Rad team, including its spotlight presentation, Droplet Resolution Allows for Quantitative Assessment and Monitoring of Cancer, which takes place on Tuesday, April 2, 12.30–1.30pm at the Exhibitor Spotlight, Theater B — with lunch provided.

Among 50 or so Bio-Rad customer research poster presentations in areas ranging from drug resistance and CAR-T to molecular diagnosis and genomic analysis, are:

  • Analysis of glypican 3-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T cells in hepatocellular carcinoma cell and mouse models, with Dan Li, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda (Section 22, Poster #10 - Monday, April 1, 1–5pm)
  • Is a single driver gene mutation sufficient for monitoring early response in advanced colorectal cancer? with Pashalina Kehagias, Institut Jules Bordet, Brussels (Section 20, Poster #22 - Monday, April 1, 1–5pm)
  • Analysis of nucleosomal DNA as an extraction control for plasma-based circulating tumor DNA assays with David Polsky, New York Univ. School of Medicine, New York (Section 18, Poster #28 - Monday, April 1, 2019, 1:00–5:00 PM)

Stop by the Bio-Rad booth and you’ll also be offered the chance to win a book on Digital PCR Methods and Protocols.

See the Bio-Rad website for further details of all its activities.

ddSEQ™ Single-Cell Isolator

Bio-Rad

The ddSEQ Single-Cell Isolator is part of the Illumina® Bio-Rad® Single-Cell Sequencing Solution, a platform that brings Bio-Rad's Droplet Digital™ technology and Illumina's market-leading sequencing expertise to single-cell gene expression studies. The ddSEQ Single-Cell Isolator works with the Illumina® Bio-Rad® SureCell™ WTA 3' Library Prep Kit for the ddSEQ™ System. This technology utilizes disposable microfluidic cartridges to coencapsulate single cells and barcodes into subnanoliter droplets, where cell lysis and barcoding occur. RNA-Seq libraries are subsequently prepared and sequenced. Analysis is conducted via BaseSpace. Features and Benefits Process hundreds to tens of thousands of cells per day Sensitive and unbiased characterization of transcriptional signatures Scalable solution to accommodate a wide range of experimental designs Agnostic to mammalian cell size, enabling unbiased profiling of diverse cell populations End-to-end single-cell sequencing solution with simple, powerful data analysis Applications and Uses Assess cell-to-cell heterogeneity and identify new sub-populations Map cell trajectories Dissect transcriptional mechanics Infer gene regulatory networks Neurology research — normal brain function, neurological disease and psychological disorders Immunology research — B Cell and T Cell subunit functional analyses Cancer research — studies of cellular expansion of clonal cells in tumors and mutations that lead to differences in gene expression and drug response Stem cell research — studies to better understand development and differentiation, including reverse engineering tissues Included Components ddSEQ Test Cartridges ddSEQ Cartridge Holder ddSEQ Single-Cell Isolator Power supply and power cord User manual and product documentation
