Product news

Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. has announced the launch of two iTaq universal one-step kits that deliver superior data precision and highly efficient reverse transcription quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) performance under most reaction conditions on any qPCR instrument.

The new iTaq universal one-step kits include the iTaq universal SYBR® Green one-step kit and the iTaq universal probes one-step kit. Both kits come as a 2x concentrated, ready-to-use reaction mix with iScript™ reverse transcriptase optimized for RT-qPCR.

The one-step kits are universal due to their broad instrument compatibility and the ability to tolerate a wide range of reaction and protocol conditions. The multiple passive reference dyes included in their formulation are particularly useful for researchers using qPCR instruments that require ROX fluorescent dyes. In addition, the combination of RNase H+ iScript reverse transcriptase and antibody-mediated hot-start iTaq DNA polymerase in one reaction improves PCR efficiency, dynamic range, data precision, sensitivity, and specificity.

The iTaq universal SYBR® Green one-step kit includes SYBR® Green I dye and Bio-Rad’s patented RT inhibitor reducer. The iTaq universal probes one-step kit allows researchers to combine multiple targets in one well (multiplexing), improving data precision and reducing costs.

Key benefits of the iTaq universal one-step kits include:
• Uncompromised data with fast cycling — obtain highly efficient data in 55 minutes, which includes the reverse transcription reaction, using fast cycling conditions
• Optimized buffer formulation — achieve efficient amplification of challenging templates, cell lysates, and difficult target sequences
• Instant activation — complete polymerase activation in 30 seconds for greater reaction specificity and superior data

Bio-Rad’s iTaq universal one-step kits can be used for gene expression analysis, mutation detection, genetically modified organism (GMO) characterization, genetic profiling, and other genomics applications.
