Beckman Coulter Life Sciences launched its nationwide Discovery in Motion tour. The mobile exhibit is equipped with state-of-the art laboratory instrumentation and will travel coast-to-coast throughout the continental United States, with a few stops slated in Canada. The tour begins in San Diego and offers cutting-edge application demonstrations performed by a team of scientific experts.

According to Scott Atkin, president of Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, "We are extremely excited with the launch of the Discovery in Motion tour. This mobile laboratory allows us to reach our customers in ways we never could before. By delivering live, up close demonstrations of our products, we are able to provide researchers with a richer experience."

The Discovery in Motion tour is designed for laboratory directors, principal investigators, laboratory technicians, staff scientists and anyone else involved in life sciences and chemistry and materials research. Each stop will provide visitors with a variety of activities. Researchers can experience a personalized demonstration, meet colleagues, and receive information to stay up-to-date on the latest science and technology available from Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. Capillary Electrophoresis, Centrifugation, Liquid Handling, Particle Characterization and Flow Cytometry products will be on display for the initial leg of the tour, and products will be added as new technologies become available.

ElectrophoresisElectrophoresis equipment is used to separate mixtures of protein, DNA or RNA, based on their electric charge, size and other physical characteristics, by passing them through a medium such as a polyacrylamide gel, an agarose gel or a capillary tube.
