Product news

Axygen introduces the first ever spray bottle for application of XGal-IPTG mixture that will take the pain out of plate preparation. This proprietary mixture not only ensures the stability of XGal and IPTG but gives clean round colonies for easy screening. No more measuring, mixing or using loops for application; just spray 3 times on the agar plate. Each spray delivers precise and optimal volumes of XGal-IPTG mixture maintaining consistency between plates. Each spray bottle has 20ml of XGal-IPTG mixture sufficient for 100 standard size plates. All the for about the same cost as most X-Gal packs.

X-Gal-IPTG Spray

Axygen Scientific, Inc.

Axygen X-Gal IPTG spray is a convenient ready-to-use solution of optimal quantities of IPTG, X-Gal and stabilizers presented in a spray bottle for easy, accurate and consistent screening of Blue/White colonies. Advantages of Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray include:• Easy, accurate and convenient. • Sprays deliver optimal concentration and volume consistently for consistent and accurate results. • No need to weigh X-Gal and IPTG and mixing them in special solutions saving time and cost. • Proprietary mixtures of stabilizers ensure the mixture is stable for 6 months when stored under recommended conditions. Applications of Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray:Colony screening of blue and white colonies in expression studies. Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray Storage: 4 °C. Shipped at ambient. Stability of Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray: 6 months when stored at 4 °C. Protocol for Axygen X-Gal-IPTG Spray X-Gal-IPTG spray is a ready to use solution that can be directly sprayed on agar plates containing appropriate antibiotics. Spray solution in provided a brown bottle and it is enough for approximately 100 plates (100 mm size). Keep a distance of about few inches (between spray bottle and plates) while spraying solution on agar plates. Spray the solution 3-4 times (~200 μl) on each agar plate, which is equivalent to about 1.3 mg of each of X-Gal and IPTG per plate.

MicrobiologyMicrobiology is the study of microorganisms including protists, prokaryotes, fungi, and, often, viruses. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments. A variety of vectors optimized for gene cloning and expression in a range of host organisms are available, alongside competent cells for genetic replication. Here, you can explore a range of molecular tools, high-quality genomic and cDNA libraries, premade clones, transformation and transfection reagents and mutagenesis or gene expression detection assays and expression arrays.
