Don Whitley Scientific presents Petri-Flow™ manufactured by Zisys Ltd. Designed to suit individual requirements and work flows, Petri-Flow improves productivity of microbiological testing in food, clinical and water laboratories.

Petri-Flow’s modern and ergonomic design offers the ideal layout for laboratory processes and can be modified to suit the space available. This flexible modular system can be adapted according to sample throughput and expanded according to the budget using a variety of accessories. Developed with customers in mind, the Petri-Flow is easy to keep clean and features a built-in conveyor belt cleaning attachment.

A key feature of Petri-Flow is the LIMS connection, which ensures that sample information is printed directly onto each dish, both as a machine-readable barcode and a record of key test details that a a technician can easily read. This helps to eliminate manual labelling errors and ensure failsafe identification of the samples from collection to image analysis. Streamlining laboratory workflow, Petri-Flow allows pre-filled or empty Petri dishes to be stored in bulk at one end of the system. The Petri-Flow system stacks dishes in accordance with pre-programmed protocols for each sample type before transporting them to a laboratory workbench for inoculation. Samples can then be conveyed to the media pouring station, if required, prior to storage in an incubator.

LIMSLIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is an informatics software system used to improve the quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) of data management. LIMS can be a standard for common lab workflows, such as commercial off the shelf systems (COTS), or customized for more specialized lab use. Systems are available for mainframe computers or PC.Labware and Lab SuppliesLabware and lab supplies include various forms of glassware, plasticware, reagents and personal protective equipment (PPE) and are used across all scientific laboratories, enabling daily tasks to be performed. Explore a range of flasks and beakers, petri dishes, carboys and storage bottles. Labware such as condensers, desiccators and burettes are also available for more specific tasks. Useful system features include high-throughput, automation, robotic arms, automated liquid handling and associated database systems. Accessories in sample management include barcode scanners, heat sealers and tubes.Robotic InstrumentsRobotic instruments can be used for high-throughput automation of many lab processes. Such processes use instruments for assays like cell based assays and ELISA, for sample preparation like shakers, centrifuges and incubators, and for analysis such as sequencing and western blot analyzers. Useful features of robotic instruments include speed, reproducibility, barcode readers, software and automation.Automation Supplies / AccessoriesAutomated accessories and consumables make lab processes fast, efficient and reliable. Useful automation accessories include microplate sealers, label printers and reagent reservoirs.Plate ProcessingAutomated plate processing is used in microplate technologies for high-throughput, speed and efficiency. Plate processing systems include microplate handlers for moving plates, heat sealers, stackers and carousels for storage, retrieval and delivery, microplate washers and piercers. Useful features of plate processors include walk-away automation, compatibility and easy integration with microplate systems.Automated Liquid HandlingAutomated liquid handling equipment is used to mix, dilute and dispense allotted volumes of liquid into microplates and other vessels automatically. The robotic, liquid handling arms can dispense from single channel to 3456 multichannel as well as operate nanoliter dispensing, enabling high throughput of samples.
