Arrayjet today announced that the University of Edinburgh has purchased an Aj120 Inkjet Microarray Spotter.

The device has been installed in the Scottish Centre for Genomic Technology and Informatics (SCGTI) under the supervision of SCGTI Director Professor Peter Ghazal and his highly experienced staff. “This machine replaces an alpha prototype spotter we purchased from Arrayjet in 2004; the technology has shown itself to be robust and reliable in a range of microarray applications including arrays of DNA, proteins and cells. The new spotter has increased throughput capacity and superior performance essential to meet the increasing demand for high quality microarrays resulting from the rise of the ‘translational medicine’ approach to healthcare”, said Professor Ghazal.

Arrayjet Chief Executive Graham Miller was equally enthusiastic about the sale, adding, “This is the proof, if any were needed, that our inkjet spotter is the future of high quality microarray production. We are delighted to be associated with a leading organisation such as SCGTI, for our technology platform to be used to generate the high quality data for which they are known and to be in any way involved in advancing the integration of biology and medicine for the benefit of all”.
