Arbor Biosciences launches bulk offerings of cell-free expression systems

New myTXTL bulk packaging aligns with volumes required for high-throughput organizations in synthetic biology

While attending the SynBioBeta 2019 conference in San Francisco, CA, Arbor Biosciences™ announced the launch of myTXTL™ bulk pack sizes as an addition to its growing catalog of cell-free expression kits for synthetic biology applications.

This new offering aligns with the growing demand for larger volume requirements by organizations utilizing high-throughput screening in protein and enzyme engineering. The pack sizes and aliquots of the master mixes are ideal for cell-free expression on automated liquid handling systems.

Cell-free expression systems are currently available from Arbor Biosciences as a Sigma 70 or a linear DNA expression master mix. Both systems use E. coli as a base lysate combined with amino acids, essential elements, and a regenerative energy buffer in a complete, simple to use master mix which only requires the addition of template DNA. The Sigma 70 system relies on circular or plasmid DNA while the linear system can transcribe circularized or linear DNA as a template prior to translation. Either system will be available to researchers in bulk format to pair with their high-throughput DNA template generation systems.

“The uses of cell-free expression systems continue to expand in synthetic biology and we want to stay aligned with our client base as they scale their discovery pipelines”, stated Evelyn Eggenstein Ph.D., Synthetic Biology Division Manager at Arbor Biosciences. “The rapid design build-test cycle provided by myTXTL systems has accelerated discovery, especially when paired with linear DNA templates.”

The Sigma 70 and Linear DNA Expression Master Mixes are available for immediate order in 5, 10, and 25 mL sizes with a lead time of 3 - 4 weeks for shipment. Arbor Biosciences is also working with organizations on custom pack sizes greater than 25 mL and aliquot sizes to match end-user requirements. Introductory pricing will be available on bulk pack sizes at the SynBioBeta conference and through the end of the year.
