Gas leak detection is crucial in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Many pharmaceutical processes require the use of potentially toxic gases, key amongst them is ozone, and certain manufacturing processes may generate hazardous gases as a by-product. An important feature of the GasSens is that receiver modules provide an interface between detection system and external alarming and data logging requirements. Each compact module includes a digital display of gas concentration, isolated analogue output, and four relay outputs. Receivers can be located up to 1000 feet from sensor/transmitters for remote indication, and the systems can provide local control functions such as valve shutoff while transmitting a 4-20 mA signal to remote displays or data loggers.

GasSens detection systems employ specialist electrochemical sensors developed by Analytical Technology and consist of individual modules that can be located where required. Sensors and transmitters, located in the area where gas leakage or build-up might occur, provide the basic measurement for the system.
