Product news

Today, efficient and reproducible high throughput transfection remains a challenge. Using amaxa’s 96-well Shuttle™, a high throughput extension for the well established Nucleofector® platform, transfection of difficult-to-transfect cell lines and primary cells is no longer out of reach.

The 96-well Shuttle™ is a high throughput transfection system based on amaxa’s well established Nucleofector® technology. Designed for applications such as RNAi based target identification and validation as well as reporter gene assays, it combines high-throughput capabilities with Nucleofector technology benefits.

This highly efficient, non-viral gene transfer method, suitable for primary cells (e.g. T cells) and hard-to-transfect cell lines (e.g. HL-60) is based on electroporation and uses a combination of optimized electrical parameters and cell-type specific solutions.

The Nucleofector 96-well Shuttle™ System is suited for the high throughput transfection of DNA, siRNA duplexes, and shRNA using the same transfection protocol. Transfection efficiencies of up to 90% with DNA and up to 99% with siRNA duplexes are achieved.

The system uses disposable modular standard 96-well Nucleocuvette™ plates. Each well can be addressed individually, i.e. 96 different transfection conditions can be tested in one plate, truly accelerating the optimization process.

By extending its sophisticated Nucleofector technology, amaxa sets a new standard for high throughput transfection, addressing both industrial and academic researchers.

Cell-Based AssaysCell-based assays are used to monitor the presence, quantity and activities of a desired cellular analyte including drug molecules or biomarkers. This can reveal information on cell health (apoptosis, cytotoxicity, viability and proliferation assays), cell metabolism, cell migration and cell signaling mechanisms. A variety of vectors optimized for gene cloning and expression in a range of host organisms are available, alongside competent cells for genetic replication. Here, you can explore a range of molecular tools, high-quality genomic and cDNA libraries, premade clones, transformation and transfection reagents and mutagenesis or gene expression detection assays and expression arrays. RNAi requires chemical synthesis, introduction of DNA vectors into cells, an assay of RNAi effects and RNAi quantification or analysis. Consider target sequence selection, reagent preparation, controls, high specificity and effectiveness and low non-specific gene knockdown.Clinical GeneticsMolecular Genetics covers the analysis of hereditary genetic disease and chromosomal abnormalities. Genetics can be analysed using DNA, RNA, and protein microarrays, PCR, RT PCR and DNA sequencing. Genetic equipment includes genetic workstations, thermal cyclers, cooling blocks and electrophoresis products. Diagnostic kits are used for DNA / RNA extraction and purification.
