Alere is exhibiting at the 2015 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Atlanta, Georgia on July 26-30 (booth #4945). Alere will feature the Alere™ i Molecular Platform and the epoc® Blood Analysis System in the AACC New Product Showcase. Alere™ i is a rapid, instrument-based, isothermal system for the qualitative detection of infectious diseases. Their unique Alere™ i isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology provides molecular results in just minutes, allowing you to make effective clinical decisions sooner. The Alere™ i Influenza assay was the first ever molecular point of care assay to be granted CLIA waiver. The Alere™ i Strep A is now CLIA waived.

The epoc® Blood Analysis System produces blood gases and electrolytes in about 30 seconds, and is the only wireless bedside testing solution to use “SmartCard” technology. The epoc® BGEM Test Card has 11 analytes on one card, including Creatinine with eGFR and Chloride.

Visitors to the Alere booth #4945 will be able to view other leading diagnostic platforms and tests. They can also meet with the Alere Scientific Affairs team to answer IQCP questions and receive resources for developing IQCP risk assessments and quality control plans for Alere test systems.

HematologyIn Haematology / Hematology, complete blood cell counts (or full blood counts) are obtained using automated blood count analyzers to enumerate blood cell types.  Hematology also encompasses haemostasis and coagulation, thrombophilia and hemophilia, plasma viscosity and ESR analysis, hemoglobinopathies, cell morphology and haematinic measurement.ImmunologyImmunological techniques measure and characterize immune responses. Immunology kits and analysis systems often use techniques such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and immunodiffusion assays, Immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Immunologists use equipment such as flow Cytometers, plate readers, plate washers and fluorescent microscopes.Point-of-CarePoint-of-Care Testing (POCT) or Near Patient Testing (NPT) products are available for urine, blood and other clinical chemistry analyses. POCT includes: blood glucose testing, blood gas and electrolytes analysis, rapid coagulation testing (PT / INR), rapid cardiac markers diagnostics, drugs of abuse screening, urine strips testing, pregnancy testing, fecal occult blood analysis, food pathogens screening, hemoglobin diagnostics, infectious disease testing and cholesterol screening.Point of Care SolutionsPoint of care solutions provide medical diagnostics and treatments at or near the site of patient care. These technologies offer rapid results, helping healthcare providers make quick decisions. From glucose monitors to molecular diagnostics, point of care solutions are transforming healthcare delivery by reducing wait times and improving patient outcomes.
