BioTek’s Synergy™ 2 Alpha Microplate Reader provides high-performance Alpha detection at a reasonable price for low- to medium-throughput laboratories. The Synergy 2 Alpha comes pre-configured with the Alpha filter set, mirrors, software and optical modules to read all Alpha assays, and is easily upgradable with additional detection modes as the laboratory’s needs change.

“Extensive user feedback demonstrates that Synergy 2 Alpha’s sensitivity is on par with expensive laser-based systems,” notes Xavier Amouretti, Product Manager at BioTek. “Its lower price point makes it easier for life science research laboratories to adopt AlphaScreen®, AlphaLISA® and SureFire® assay technologies.”

In addition to Alpha assay specificity, the Synergy 2 Alpha single-mode microplate reader is integrated with Gen5™ Data Analysis Software for advanced reader control, data analysis, graphing and reporting features. An informational Alpha assay CD is also included, and contains Alpha-based application notes, Gen5 sample data files and pre-programmed Gen5 sample protocols. Synergy 2 Alpha is modular, and can be upgraded to any Synergy 2 multi-mode reader configuration, including absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, TRF or FP detection modes and injection.

BioTek Instruments, Inc., headquartered in Winooski, VT, USA, is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture, and sale of microplate instrumentation and software. MicroplatesMicroplates are multi-well plates used to increase the throughput of biological investigations. The number of wells microplates contain can range from 6 to 3243 wells, with the 96-well format being the most commonly used. Microplates can come tailored for a range of applications including cell culture, PCR, filtration, storage, non-binding surface, protein crystallization, as well as pre-coated, deep well and normal Standard microplates. Additionally, options for microplate colors include clear , black, white or black with clear bottom and white with clear bottom for absorbance microplate reader applications.
