Tosoh Bioscience, Inc. will be launching new products for immunoassay testing at the 2011 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo in Atlanta, Georgia from July 24 to 28 (Booth #401).

Tosoh’s next generation system, the AIA-900 Automated Immunoassay Analyzer, features three system configurations; the AIA-900, the AIA-900 with the 9 tray sorter, and the AIA-900 with the 19 tray sorter. The 3 configurations present customers with a unique opportunity to grow with their testing volumes. Running 90 tests per hour, the analyzer’s user-friendly operations provide extremely efficient immunoassay diagnostics. The AIA-900 utilizes the same Unit Dose Test Cup reagent technology as all Tosoh AIA immunoassay analyzers; and is being launched with the full AIA-Test Menu.

At AACC 2011, Tosoh will be introducing two new assays: ACTH and DHEA-S. Tosoh has also launched HbA1c and Cystatin C earlier this year. These assays all utilize Tosoh’s Unit Dose Test Cup reagent technology, featuring 90-day calibration stability and assay time of approximately 20 minutes.

Tosoh’s powerful AIA-2000 Automated Immunoassay Analyzer delivers 200 results per hour with expanded functionality designed to increase workflow and minimize operator time. For low volume testing, the AIA-360 Automated Immunoassay Analyzer runs 36 tests per hour in an extremely compact footprint, providing a cost efficient solution for immunoassay testing.

AntibodiesAntibodies are used in techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, immunohistochemistry, western blotting and immunopreciptation. Select specific antigen reactivity, high specific affinity, low non-specific binding, monoclonal or polyclonal, primary or secondary antibodies and associated conjugates such as an enzyme or dye for visualization.Cell / Tissue CultureCell culture or tissue culture is used to study the biology of cells or tissues and to isolate cellular products in an environment which can be manipulated and well defined. Accurately control your culture environment with bioreactors or culture incubators, bind your cells to a surface or together with an extracellular matrix. Distinguish cell types with differential media or proliferate cells with certain characteristics using selective media. Enrich your media with supplements such as growth factors, sera and vitamins. High-quality cells, optimized for your applications, alongside optimized cell substrates, growth medium and supplements, are critical for experimental success. Explore a range of cells suitable for your applications, including isogenic cell lines, competent cells, induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cell lines, fungal/bacterial/mammalian cell lines, stem cells and cancer cell lines. Immunology kits and analysis systems often use techniques such as ELISA, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and immunodiffusion assays, Immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Immunologists use equipment such as flow Cytometers, plate readers, plate washers and fluorescent microscopes.Cell-Based AssaysCell-based assays are used to monitor the presence, quantity and activities of a desired cellular analyte including drug molecules or biomarkers. This can reveal information on cell health (apoptosis, cytotoxicity, viability and proliferation assays), cell metabolism, cell migration and cell signaling mechanisms. POCT includes: blood glucose testing, blood gas and electrolytes analysis, rapid coagulation testing (PT / INR), rapid cardiac markers diagnostics, drugs of abuse screening, urine strips testing, pregnancy testing, fecal occult blood analysis, food pathogens screening, hemoglobin diagnostics, infectious disease testing and cholesterol screening.BiomarkersBiomarkers are biological markers which can be measured and evaluated to indicate a biological state. The use of biomarkers in research and diagnosis can indicate a normal or disease state or drug response of cells / tissues. Biomarkers include genetic markers, cell surface markers such as antigens, antibodies or receptors and secreted molecules such as cytokines. An assay system is required for identification of biomarkers. :Clinical TrialsClinical Trials, an essential part of drug discovery process, assess the safety and effectiveness of a new medication or device in the pharmaceutical industry. Clinical Trials are a phased process (Phase 0, Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV) which begins after initial preclinical testing.
