Warwick Analytical Service (www.warwickanalytical.co.uk/chn.htm), the analytical division of Exeter Analytical (UK) Ltd., is able to investigate and precisely measure the percentage Carbon, Hydrogen and Nitrogen content of samples with an accuracy of better than +/- 0.3% for a wide range of sample types.

CHN analysis provides a quick and inexpensive method to check sample purity, and in conjunction with mass spectrometry and NMR data, can be used to characterise a compound.

Samples (0.5 - 2.0 mg per analysis) are analysed using two Exeter Analytical CE 440 instruments. This model of analyser has been demonstrated to be number one in terms of accuracy and precision in recent independent studies performed by the Royal Society of Chemistry (Micro Analytical Group). All samples are weighed using the latest ultra microbalances. Warwick Analytical Service's method for the determination of Carbon, Hydrogen and Nitrogen is covered by UKAS ISO17025 accreditation.

Warwick Analytical Service (WAS) have the experienced staff and instrumentation to provide a fast, accurate and precise CHN service for a wide range of sample types, including polymers and volatile samples. Analysis of air sensitive compounds can be reliably performed as the sample is prepared and completely sealed in a high specification glove box prior to analysis. Warwick Analytical Service is a company dedicated to providing analytical excellence at a realistic cost. Through experienced staff, the latest analytical instrumentation and working closely with clients - WAS has established a strong reputation for informed personal service and delivering top quality data on time.

Operating from a dedicated facility approved to BSI ISO 9001-2000 and with a wide range of analytical techniques accredited to UKAS ISO17025 - WAS is the trusted CHN sample analysis service provider for a growing number of UK and international businesses involved with university research, contract research, pharmaceutical analysis, fuel analysis, environmental monitoring and polymers.

Mass SpectrometryMass spectrometry (MS) is a powerful analytical technique used to identify and quantify molecules based on the mass-to-charge ratio of gas-phase ions. It provides detailed information about the structure, composition, and properties of compounds and is widely used across fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, drug discovery and development, food and beverage testing, and wider chemical research. Key MS techniques include tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LS-MS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS). Choosing from these wide range of techniques and technologies can be a daunting task, so keep up to date with scientific applications, performance expectations, and customer reviews here all in one place. Visit our product directory to receive quotes direct from the manufacturer. NMR and EPR SpectroscopyNuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is used to resolve the local chemical environment of atomic nuclei with spin, revealing information on molecular structure, dynamic processes and chemical reactions of organic molecules, from proteins to synthetics. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) also known as electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy is used to detect and quantify paramagnetic species in a sample, including free radicals as transition metal ions. By immersing the sample in a strong magnetic field, both NMR and EPR spectrometers probe the sample with either radio waves or microwaves respectively. A range of benchtop, solid-state and time domain NMR spectrometers & EPR spectrometers are available, as well as NMR tubes, NMR solvents, software, coils, and magnets. Find the best NMR & EPR equipment in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Combinatorial ChemistryCombinatorial chemistry, also known as combichem, is a technique used in drug discovery to create libraries of structurally related compounds. A library is generated by synthesis with a chemical reactor system or by computer-based modeling of compound combinations. When undertaking combinatorial chemistry consider reagents, buffers, resins and standards.Balances and Moisture AnalyzersBalances & Moisture Analyzers / weighing scales measure static or dynamic loads. Features to consider when choosing an analytical balance include accuracy, capacity and resolution. Additional features and specialized balances include enclosures for weighing powder, microbalances for measuring small quantities, portable balances, moisture analyzers, top loading balances and internal calibration for measurements over time or with varied temperature.Data AnalysisData analysis hardware and software is available to make data processing straight-forward yet powerful. Data software can be used for math and stats, technical graphing and image analysis. In addition, software is available for specific data analysis of electrophoresis, densitometry, ELISA and DNA sequencing.
